Siddhartha Hospitality has launched a new campaign called “Food against Cancer”, aimed at raising awareness and promoting healthy eating to fight cancer. Krishna Neupane, CEO of Siddhartha Group, announced the start of this campaign on February 5, coinciding with World Cancer Day.
“To make the Food against Cancer campaign successful, various promotional programs have been planned, including nutritious food offerings, workshops and podcasts with cancer experts, community engagement, partnerships with health professionals, employee training, and social media awareness programs,” said CEO Neupane.
According to Siddhartha Hospitality, the campaign will focus on creating awareness about the role of food in fighting cancer by offering a special healthy menu. The menu will feature fresh fruits, leafy vegetables, grains, Omega-3 rich foods, and anti-inflammatory meals, which will be promoted as cancer-fighting foods.
As part of the campaign, chefs will directly demonstrate how to prepare healthy food. Cards with nutritional information will be placed on dining tables in Siddhartha Hospitality’s hotels and restaurants.
Additionally, workshops and podcast interviews with cancer specialists will be organized. These will cover topics like planned diets, identifying unhealthy foods, and how to eat for better outcomes, with interactive discussions for participants to engage with the experts.
The campaign will also prioritize community involvement in raising cancer awareness. Participants will be encouraged to share their favorite cancer-fighting recipes under the theme “Cook to Combat Cancer”. The best recipes will be featured on Siddhartha Hospitality’s menu and promoted through social media. A Healthy Food Festival will also be organized, with stalls featuring cancer-fighting foods, smoothie bars, and salad counters.
As part of the campaign, there will be promotions and discussions on healthy menus in collaboration with health experts, while also promoting sustainability through partnerships with local organic farmers.
Siddhartha Hospitality also plans to educate chefs and staff within its hospitality network on how to encourage guests to consume food that helps in the fight against cancer.
To further promote the campaign, social media will be used to share beneficial recipes and dishes for cancer patients. Information will be shared via videos, info-graphs, and recipe guides, with special focus on the key topics and experts involved in the campaign. Siddhartha Hospitality will also offer special discounts on various menus to encourage participation in the campaign.
